Election of 1860

The Institute presents a thirty-week course “History of the United States of America from the Civil War”. In the first year of US History, the Institute presented a thirty-week course “History of the United States of America” in which we studied the story of how the colonies fought for their independence, came together to form a union, wrote a Declaration of Independence and won their freedom from Britain. We continued on to study the new nation. This second year we will study the tragic story of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln, Reconstruction, and the Gilded Age. All classes begin at 7:00 PM.
