You are invited to spend an evening with one of the greatest artists of all time: Leonardo da Vinci. Join us for a lecture and images celebrating this famous 15th century artist. We will journey to the small town of Vinci in the hills west of Florence where he began his life. We will walk along the streets of Florence where the teenage Leonardo perfected his craft. And we will go north to Milan and enter the silent halls of Santa Maria delle Grazie where Leonardo painted his greatest work ~ THE LAST SUPPER. ENROLL
William H. Fredlund, the Director of the Institute, obtained his B.A. and M.A. from UCLA, where he specialized in European history and art history. He studied in Italy on a Fulbright Fellowship and completed a double Ph.D. in history and humanities at Stanford, specializing in Renaissance Italy. Dr. Fredlund has taught for UCLA, the University of Florence, and Stanford University.
